While organising my Living room and sorting out endless amounts of 'My Stuff'...not just Sweet pea's stuff, easy to say it is hers but when I was sorting through I realised I'm quite a clutter bug too...
Anyway, I've gone through all the magazines and taken out all my most favourite images and articles to fill up my two scrap books. It also has given me more cabinet shelfling space too without all the paper work.
I have been in a bit of a busy mode this week and forgot/well didn't have time to share 3 Thrifty buys from the Market and Charity shops this week. Firstly, was this lovely child's cup (if anyone has any info about its makers or who its by- I would love to know as no makers mark). It has two sweet bears- wording on it says 'My turn next'.
Smarties chocolate chick for my Sweet pea when she comes out of school- A reward for being so good with her Numbers and Letters.
My concentration is getting worse as I get older...while gluing and sticking magazine cut outs I drift off into laa laa land reading articles...
I also bought this second hand 'Roxy' bag...just love it!.
And these sweet little birds...
You see de-cluttering is hard when you see thrifty must have's...
Heavenly roses!...
After seeing Lovely Ashley's post on her blog...It made me think about one of the books I rescued from the flood...This book is by Poppy Treffry...It was a birthday gift...and its filled with wonderful inspirations.
I decided to plan out some idea's using a tea cup as a focus...Just idea's in the making.
I have a few exciting printed designs to show you soon on the illustration front and still waiting for my ordered printed cards- Once my shop is all stocked up...I will be ready to sell my illustrations in several forms- printed pillow cases, cards and post cards- also I will be selling some vintage wares.
It has not been as easy as 'set up shop' as in my situation you have to go through a lot of daunting hurdles to become self employed...
Awww least its nearly Friday...'Yay!'
x Kazzy x
P.s Primark throw on previous posting is still in my store...as a few asked about it.
Thanks for the lovely comments. I'm sorry if I'm slow getting back to some of you...x

I look forward to your store opening - I think I may have to treat myself :)
ReplyDeleteGreat thrifty finds x Good idea for saving space with the scrap books too :) Happy weekend x
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous post and it would be great to buy your illustrations - I do so love them.
ReplyDeleteTake care and happy decluttering,
Nina xxxx
I am decluttering my mags too, quite hard to throw away aren't they! Ooh tell me when your shop is open and I will give you a shout out on facebook x
ReplyDeleteI must stop bringing treasures home also or start de cluttering I don't have a shop to buy for anymore and its so hard to pass up a super deal like your sweet cup that is too adorable and those birds would have been in my bag also.....a little clutter I must say when their treasures makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely post!
ReplyDeleteYour sweet little mug could be late 50's/early 60's. I had one in the early sixties and I am not sure what happened to it.
I am trying to declutter too!
Julie xxxxxxx
I used to do that - keep a proper scrap book - such a fun thing, I really must try and find time for it again. Good luck with the shop x
ReplyDeleteI love those sweet birdies Kazzy. You definitely have an eye for the loveliest ceramics. I'm so excitedfor you opening a shop, that's perfect for selling our goodies. I find it so hard decluttering magazines but if I am honest with myself I don't tend to look at them over and ove again so have started to be a bit more care-free about giving them away or recycling. A scrap book sounds like a good plan though! xox Penelope
ReplyDeleteHow exciting for you - best of luck with your shop. I adore your illustrations.
ReplyDeleteI have scrap book files, it's an ongoing process that drives Rob up the wall. Piles of magazines then become piles of clippings separated into different catagories. I have a scrap book bag with my clear pocket files, scissors, glue stick, hole punch....it's like a part time job and sometimes tedious as I just want them all glued in now!
I love the little nursery ware mug. I have a tiny one in a similar illustrative style of Humpty but sadly with no markings either.

ReplyDeleteGosh your own shop, sending you lots of luck though with your talent you wont need it! Love the idea of some pretty pillow cases very different and unique.
ReplyDeleteOoo I just love the picture you took of your gorgeous dusky roses they are so pretty.
I have quite the pile of magazines waiting and waiting and waiting for the day I get my act together and put the images I want in a scrap book. Well they have waited a few years now so maybe a bit longer won't hurt! lol.

I too have a HUGE pile of mags awaiting some sort of scrap book inspiration! But alas, I cannot find the time to sort it all out.
ReplyDeleteOne day...
Beautiful roses, btw.
Xx
I must clear out my mags! The mug looks like the ones we used to get easter eggs in in the 60's. I used to love mine.

I am just like you, it's so hard to part with magazines, but every so often I try to go through them just keeping certain pages. I was thinking about this just this morning. Really pleased for you that you are turning your lovely art into an income, and looking forward to hearing more.
ReplyDeleteWith regard to the cup I am sure that I have seen similar illustrations to this before but cannot remember where. I shall keep a look out.
