White Hyacinths

White Hyacinths have a very strong but sweet aroma...not to everyone's liking, but I do like them.
Last year I learnt a very valuable lesson with these flowers and that was not to over water, very little actually.
Otherwise they go very long and stringy in the stem. Well, that is what I felt happened with last years lot.

I do love it when the Sun shows her pretty face~ I was glad to see the back of those freezing temps!...Its turned a lot more mild and I like it that way. Still, feel a bit cheated  of the snow!...But I've got over it and well and truly looking forward to Spring!.

To be honest the last few days Ive still been trying to fight off the flu!...I've been like a hermit crab tucked up in a shell of my duvet with cold and flu capsules and lots of hot syrupy drinks!...blooming bugs!!

Least , I've woken today with the sun on my face and little more human...

The lovely green floral shirt hanging over the chair my Twinny brought me from her Charity shop~ It was NEXT originally and its lovely and floaty...lucky me.

Floral's sure add that bright sweetness to my day,

Happy Sunday,

under the weather...

No

Snow

fell...

Can you believe that most of the Country at some point over the last few weeks has had snow...
But my spot in Devon has had none...

But we've had some rather random weather sleety rain, thunder and lightening, lots of the usual rain and big hailstorms.

Made for some interesting School walks.

Dartmoor which is only a few miles away has had lots of snow and some parts of Cornwall including my Mothers village...Somerset seems worse effected.  Just one day would have been nice, especially as little sweet pea has been praying her hardest for it to snow.

But...

never mind...

Life goes on...

One thing I was not prepared for which hit me very badly this week was the dreaded lurgy...
I'm all topped up on cold & flu capsules and chesty cough medicines. Its completely zapped me of all my energy ~ almost lost my voice and suffering with achy joints and headaches.

But after 3 horrible days of it...I feel I'm on the mend!.
Sweet pea on the other hand is home with me today with her chesty cough.

So I've made us some warming Soup...
Its most definitely a Duvet Day!.

I actually like Devon for its more reasonable temps, but boy' has it been freezzzzing lately!

My heating bill is massive this month- eeeeeeeeekkk!
One night when it was very bitterly cold I couldnt get warm (I am positive that this is when i caught the lurgy!) I went to bed in two jumpers, pj's, woolly socks & slipper boots and a dressing gown over the top and was still cold...

Roll on Spring...

keep snug as a bug in a rug my lovelies,

Snow flakes and Spring flowers

Snowflakes fell on the School run...but soon turned to sleety rain. I hear through the grape vine the West Countries in for some Snow on Friday though...I had a really important job interview this week~ Its something I'd really like to get as the hours are perfect for working around Sweet pea's school day, so fingers and toes all crossed.
Life seems busy again and I'm feeling brighter...Sweet pea's settled into the new School term and enjoying after school dance and Ballet clubs...Some weeks do feel as though you are walking backwards and forwards like a yo-yo.   Despite the Wintery showers and cold biting winds I walked into my Kitchen and it feels like Spring...I sat with a warming cuppa and the Kitchen looked so pretty I thought it was worth getting my camera out.

A rare piccy of Kazzy!...I'm quite camera shy!.

I've been doing some scrap booking and a little 'simple joys' journal~ which helps me keep positive.

~~~~~~~~~~~~X~~~~~~~~~~~~
The days seems really bright despite the sun being hidden by wintery clouds.
My Camera likes these kind of days- wooo!.
My little Sweet pea has been wishing for Snow ~ she's really like to have one day play in it!..her sweet little face was beaming on the School run when she could see some snow flakes.
Colour me happy!
Flowers always cheer me up! and boy' have I needed cheering up I could see myself heading for a melt down last week~ I think everything had finally hit me and emotionally I just broke down.
While Sweet pea had her weekend with her Father I headed by train to Cornwall to see my Mother for some well needed love and comfort at her home. She took me out on Saturday night with a Cornish Morris side called 'Catseyes'~ lots of dancing around apple tree's to wake the spirits up and hopefully bring a good crop for next year. We ended up in some lovely local's converted railway station house~ it was stunning! ~Drinking Apple cider and in their gardens they had been converting railway carriages into holiday lets...It was pouring with rain and my camera  does not take good pictures in the dark , so I have nothing to show you of that magical night!.
But if you can imagine lanterns, folk singing, folk dancing and musicians with violins, bells and guitars making a heavenly sound towards a beautiful fairy lit Apple Orchard then you can visualise the beauty of it all.
We all ended up down the local lovely pub...I really needed a good night with lovely, good spirited folk.
I came Home on Sunday feeling like a new person...feeling like i can take on the world and be positive about the future once more...
Its been pouring with rain for what seems like months and months in Devon, but something beautiful happened this afternoon the Sun showed her pretty face!~Oh' it was much needed!,
Thank you so much for all your kind emails and messages~ It really cheered me up to read them and to know there are some lovely folk in the world,
best wishes,
...what cant knock you,
...Makes You stronger...
I've had so much going on with Court things~ which have been one very big, scary animal!!!!
I havent documented too much about it on my blog, but I've now had my final hearing and I am so pleased with the outcome~ My daughter's happiness has been my goal throughout and now I can breathe that these very important things have been made very clear to someone who thinks only of himself...
The last 3 months I feel I've been to hell and back...But what cant knock you makes you stronger?!~ well, kind of, but I have been totally knocked for six...and sometimes its not so easy to just 'cheer up'!.
I've kept busy, well, I've had to I'd have gone mad if I didn't.
But I'm not going to beat myself up anymore...I know now I did everything right for my little girl and I will never let someone be-little me.
Sitting in a Court room with all eye's on you is nothing I wish on anyone~ Trying to not break down while speaking was my main issue...Thankfully I had a very confident and clued up Solicitor which had given me a 'voice' on the things I would have found very hard talking about...It was all upsetting.
Anyway, Its 'OVER'...I did it...above everything else I'm a good Mum and I care about my daughter and her future. And finally I have the law on my side and I will not be bullied anymore!...
I can breathe!...Yay!!.
On a really cheerful note I'd won another Giveaway...
From Lovely Madelief 's blog...
A wonderful book...'Creative Walls'...really inspirational...also she sent Sweet pea some lovely gift tags and sweet notelets.  Thank you sooo much x
...So if you been wondering why my blog posts have been lacking some what you will understand my life's been in quite some pickle since the end of the Summer...
I'm just hoping things will settle down a little bit,
