sharing a moment...

*Family history*

I really enjoy sitting , chatting with my mother about the history of our family.
(my mother as a little girl on the right)
She lived in a big house split into two which her family shared with her cousins...her little brother is below her in the picture...They grew up in London and my Nanny's factory was bombed in the Blitz- She told me how she came home with a black face covered in smoke and dust...she was lucky to be a live...

I will have to start writing our history down as I want to share it with Sweet pea as she gets older.

Proud

A daughter to be proud of...I had an early Parents evening appointment which I prefer- And sat happily finding all about my Daughter's progress so far...Its good to hear comments like 'confident', 'happy', 'bubbly soul'...Yes it is important that her letters and numeracy are on a good level, but most importantly I want my daughter to enjoy school...Make friends, grow in confidence and be happy...I came out feeling positive as a parent that I'm doing something right.
I am so looking forward to the Easter break...I do have to share it with her father, but I'm looking forward to our week together.

Last night I just couldn't sleep- half of it I think is my cold...So I sat up til the early hours of the morning
drawing...

I bought these lovely vintage style glass bottle jars...They came in vintage looking metal rack.

Spring Sun...

Such a beautiful sunny , warm weekend!...Absolutely blooming lovely!.
I hope you have all been enjoying it too. My daughter was with her father today and despite feeling full of cold I couldn't not sit inside while it was beautifully sunny outside. And in good old Blighty fashion "while the sun shines make the most of it!"...so I did.  I do get a lot of enjoyment out of my park. I think parks are such a wonderful idea especially if your like me and your court yard is in shade most of the day!- so its nice to get out in my park and enjoy the sunny skies!.

I felt a bit silly wearing my winter boots...As most of the youngsters were in skimpy clothing and flip flops.
But I wore my t'shirt- I needed to make sure I was warm enough especially with my sniffles.
My local market on Friday ahd some lovely Daffodils and now they are opening up and looking beautiful!.
I especially love this variety with the orange inners.

My park is so beautiful!...So many lovely Daffodils about.

I sat on my own amongst the daff's and had a kazzy picnic.

I noticed a lovely tree blossoming near where I live.

I just hope this lovely weather is here to stay for a while.

I noticed in the city all the beautiful colours of the pansies...soooo colourful.

When I came home I opened all the windows and had a shift about in my Kitchen...I've moved my dresser top to the other side of the kitchen and had a jiggle about of ornaments and crockery.

I'm always moving things about...Do you think its just a woman thing?.

I always seem to end up with more stuff and less space when I re-do, re-shuffle about.

I love the sunshine flowing through the kitchen windows and lighting up the home...

Least its given me a chance to dust free everything!.

All looks lovely and bright and cheery...and clean!.

And a little Easter display on the table.

Happy, sunny home ;0)

Gift to review...

A beautiful selection of beads- Jewellery making kit from

I was asked to review a product from http://www.find-me-a-gift.co.uk/
Sweet pea choose this colourful jewellery making kit.
It was something she could thread on her own and she loves the chunky, fun coloured beads.
She scored the product 10/10 as its lovely and colourful!.

I actually wore it on the school run... as it was such a beautiful Sunny Friday and looked fab with my floaty white shirt.

So we were very happy to review our freebie!...and especially as its a lovely kit too for such a cheap price.

My beautiful Thrifty buy of the week has to be this wonderful basket with polka dot lining!
its a beauty!.
On a different note I thought I had been suffering with hay fever ? I know its only just Spring but I had the sniffles...But now realise it wasn't that as I have another cold!...feel like its only been a few weeks since i'd just got over the last one...I'm sporting a very red , sore snotty nose (nice!!!!) and its beautifully sunny today!. Oh' well I hope you lovely bloggers are enjoying it!.

Peggy

My lovely Twinny gave me a doll making kit to make for Sweet pea.
I thought it would make a great Easter gift.

The arms, legs and body and head you wire together and paint the face, legs and arms.
It came with three colours. I added beads to the wired arm joint attached to the wood of the arm.
The body I added a small mitten to make a dress- One of Sweet pea's when she was a baby. I have always kept them because I loved the wool pattern.

I was using a very brittle old paintbrush - I must invest in some new ones.

I enjoyed painting her up...Love spots and stripes ;0)

Peggy the wooden dolly seemed to like the mushroom.

Mainly because it matched her outfit ;0).

I hope you're having a happy Friday.

Thanks Twinny for this lovely gifty! x

Hare & Butterflies

Now we are officially in Spring...and there are Sunny rays of light I thought I would add some fluttery, flower angels in the kitchen...I do adore butterflies...The park on my morning walk was full of daff's and blossom beginning to show on branches...I also love the smell of freshly cut grass.
All-in-all I just adore Spring!.

I photocopied and cut out butterflies...They look quite realistic.

Some times I do think things just happen for a reason...I have a favourite Vintage market and a place where I always find a treat or two. Well, yesterday was no different and look a 1950's plastic butterfly basket tray...How did they know I had butterflies on the brain.

The colours are just beautiful...I've never seen anything like it before.

Sweet pea came home with her weekly school library book...
I so enjoyed bed time reading last night...I want to keep it, but I know I cant!.

The illustrations are just so lovely!...dreamy!...perfect!.

I have Soooo enjoyed the light in the home...

Sweet pea with my Mother's day flowers...

In her Thrifty charity shop dress...just £2...its really pretty!.
