🌱🐣🌱Easter, 🐰

Happy Easter,

After what seemed relentless rain showers & even snow showers here in a Devon it's been lovely to see the sun beams again!

And now it's the 1st April... 🌱🌞🌱

Welcoming a new Month... I'm feeling a lot more like my old self again, I feel a new month wipes the old slate clean to start refreshed and new ideas, inspirations and the start of new buds and new life in the landscape and towards warmer days.

Easter has been lovely, fairly relaxed as a family , we've had two outings. One a trip to Totnes for a few hours and then Saltram NT, picnic by the woodland... A few little jobs a round the home, sorting my little studio space and a bit of a Spring clean. It's been good to see my daughter & partner relaxing after their busy working weeks, both worn out and needing a lay in today.  I like those quiet moments walking around the garden in my dressing gown and warm tea in hand. Still a little nippy out there but the bird song is beautiful. My garden looks quite neglected. I must spend more time in it these next weeks sorting and clearing.  I enjoyed decorating my Easter Spring blossom branches for Easter, my daughter still enjoys it too.

🌱🌞🌱I hope the sun beams have been shining for you 🌿☀️πŸŒΏπŸ£πŸ’(the Easter chocolate rabbit i drew during lock down)

πŸŒ·πŸ’šπŸŒ·Step into SpringπŸ’

🌱  🌸  🌱

πŸŒ±πŸ’šπŸŒ± Hello, Sorry it's been a while. I'm gently stepping into Spring. I hadn't been well too, nothing serious but a nasty bug knocked me for six. Completely zapping all my energy levels. I had interviews in between too. All happens at once. But feeling miles better. Life's been genuinely busy too with one thing and another. We've also had work men in and outside of the cottage sorting out a few issues. And plastering and painting. I've had to put things in lots of bags and box's out of the way and I didn't label anything so I've given myself a headache 🀣 I think we all can't wait  for a four day break over the Easter weekend.
πŸŒ±πŸŒ·πŸŒ±πŸ°πŸ‡I enjoyed creating some Spring inspired bunnies...

πŸŒ±πŸ’šπŸŒ±We enjoyed a nippy cold but Bright day at Dartington hall gardens... A few weekends ago now. Also a trip to Totnes...
πŸŒ±πŸŒ·πŸŒ±πŸ’šAlso, a lovely Valentines day ❤️🌹
All the flowers have cheered my days with the cottage in such a muddle... And when I was ill. ❤️
πŸŒ±πŸ’šπŸŒ±Beautiful daffodils really brighten my days, especially when it doesn't stop raining!

πŸŒ±πŸŒ±πŸ’šπŸŒ±I was going to mention how lovely the weather has been, but today it's miserable ever so wet and grey. Roll on proper Spring like days & more sunny beams of light.
πŸŒ±πŸ’šπŸŒ±I was reading back through older blog posts and I think I say this every year. It's that longing for Spring after such bleak winter days. Don't get me wrong I love frosty winters, I love all the seasons for their own unique moments. But by March I want sun! πŸ˜‚πŸŒžBlue sky & lots of Spring cheer!
πŸŒ±πŸ’šπŸŒ±I'm going to add some more prints to my etsy shop this week.

✨πŸŒžπŸ’›Friday's favourites✨πŸŒžπŸ’›

Well, it's rather late to start wishing new year wishes, but I will... I hope January has started well for you all here in blogland.

Thank you kindly for your encouraging comments as always. I'm glad blogs are still something people like to look through & read. I find blogs cosy and comforting and the joy of the simple pleasures mainly. So on that note I thought I'd start with 'Friday's favourites'... Little joys of January mainly. In true British style I start with the weather! 😎 Oh hasn't it been a sunny month. Yes OK the odd bursts of rain, but such lovely sun beams too... Some have been rather frosty but bright blue sky! Today I took my mum on a local railway viaduct walk, through hilly fields and country lanes mainly to show her the snowdrops... We stopped for a lovely picnic in the sunshine. Such a lovely, Friday favourite thing to do. ☺️✨🌞✨πŸ’›

✨✨⭐πŸ’›Another favourite is the skies lately, wonderful cloud formations and sun sets, Pink skies and low Winter sunshine. We walked miles one day, I was feeling proud with my step countπŸ‘πŸ˜‰just over 23,000 steps. I want to walk alot more this year.
✨πŸ’›πŸŒž✨πŸ’›✨Also enjoying cosy comforts like snuggles on the sofa with granny blankets, good read and hot chocs...
✨πŸ’›πŸŒžπŸ’›✨⭐ My favourite movies this month have been 'Mrs Harris goes to Paris', 'julia julia', 'out of Africa' (seen this film so many times but always enjoy it) and 'Miss Potter' (another favourite). Stevie loves his stand up comedians so often watch them too. He's definitely more into Sci fi, action films that usually when I nod off on the sofa and he has to keep waking me up hehe. Does your partner do that to you?...
✨✨⭐✨πŸ’›Another favourite thing to do this month is watch the river, I live right by the River tavy, well a few minutes walk away... It's actually part of my walk routine. I love to follow the river up and along to the park. Even on wet days. The eb and flow helps my well being, so much bird life, wildlife, changes weekly and new wild flower shoots bring comforting thoughts of Spring. The river takes the weight of rains on Dartmoor and sometimes it's mood dramatically changes... I love those stormy swirling, gushing, aggressive river days, so powerful and the noise. So impressive.
✨⭐✨πŸ’›✨🌱⭐🌱Another favourite Winter cheer is our National Trust memberships. We do get so much out of our membership as the parking is free and the walks are wonderful especially during winter time when the historic houses are closed until Spring. We went to Saltram and enjoyed the fairy houses lining our walk. The mass of hellebores & snowdrops were beautiful too. Despite feeling frozen that weekend as temperatures dropped dramatically. We literally power walked to keep warm. The stables hold a second hand bookshop it's so well priced. I love looking for vintage books and second hand magazines. I must remember to take some of my books to donate.
πŸ’›✨⭐🌱🧚‍♂️🌱✨⭐Another favourite thing to do is paint & work in my junk journals.... I've loved working more with collage pieces and acrylic paints. I'm enjoying 50s pastel shades and working on larger canvas boards. Anyway that's just a small collection of Friday's favourites... I have found over recent years to take January gently, no big life plans or resolutions just one step at a time... And enjoy those simple pleasures.
