🌟✨🧚‍♂️ Christmas 22πŸŽ…✨🌟

Merry Moments of Christmas

✨🌟✨πŸŽ„πŸ§š‍♂️πŸŽ…✨🌟✨

🌟✨πŸŽ„πŸ§š‍♂️The whimsical window tradition in my cottage over the last few years has given me great joy and the neighbours always talk to me about it which makes me smile...Simple paper cut pieces really, but gives me alot of joy!

✨🌟✨🧚‍♂️πŸŽ„I had been fighting off a really nasty chesty bug, awful cough and felt quite rotten the weeks leading up to Christmas but luckily by my birthday things were improving and felt a little more like myself. my family had had it too. So we were all a bit run down.
✨🌟✨🧚‍♂️✨My birthday lands on the Winter Solstice...I had a Yule log chocolate cake from my lovely mumπŸ’—
✨🧚‍♂️πŸŒŸπŸŽ„✨ Festive dresser top...
✨🌟✨🌟✨πŸŽ„I like to paint or draw my daughter a little tree gift tag...this year I painted a squirrel in a sweet outfit, but I smudged the writing with my coffee... nevermind she didn't notice
✨🌟✨🌟🧚‍♂️🦊 Stevie and my daughter picked out this wonderful handmade needle felted foxy for me at a handmade fair in Cornwall. An early birthday gifty... I love with him. It's starting to look like farthing wood around the fireplace teheπŸ˜‚πŸ¦Š
✨🌟✨πŸŒŸπŸŽ„My mum said to me our cottage was made for Christmas...I think she's right. It seems to feel more special at this time of year ... ignoring the fact of the drafty windows in a heating crisis of energy bills rocketing πŸ₯΄πŸ₯Ά More woollies on this Christmas πŸŽ„πŸŒŸ
✨🌟✨✨Decorated the Christmas cake when I was feeling better...my cakes always turn out a bit wonky ...it tasted good though.
✨🌟✨🌟✨ Beautiful sky over my market town during the frosty temperature πŸ₯Άwe even had a sprinkling of snow on Dartmoor a few weeks ago.
✨🌟🧚‍♂️🌟✨I was dropping off bags of unwanted items to the charity shop and while there found a large pile (18 magazines) of Mollie Makes, around 2016/17...they are filled with all the wonderful makes of that era of my life , I can even remember buying this magazines first issue...so it was a wonderful trip down memory lane and I can fussy cut all the images to use in my junk journals. I do buy magazines but not as many these last year's, actually I still look back through older magazines I keep them like books and pass on some to friends and family 😊...my favourite magazine has always been Country Living. But I have stopped buying the summer issues and just buy spring and festive ones. I just think the cost is too high, they used to be less than £4! I decided to treat myself this Christmas but for three magazines it was around £15 eeekkk!, Always overjoyed if I see them on sale in the charity shops.
🌟✨πŸ’–πŸŒŸ✨I was so excited on Instagram when I won a competition...I won a Cosy Life Box from Amanda Bloom...it arrived just before my birthday...it was filled with beautiful yarn, sweet festive candle, notelets, crochet needle, almanac book, calendar, card and instructions to crochet a beautiful cardigan , just absolutely beautiful ❤️
✨✨✨✨✨🌟✨✨✨✨✨✨
✨🌟✨🌟✨🌟✨🧚‍♂️ A year of being creative....just a small collection of my artwork here, I've actually been so good keeping to regular art and crafts...I love looking back at where My imagination took me. I've just started to finish my little junk journal too.
✨✨πŸŒŸπŸŽ„πŸ§š‍♂️✨πŸŽ„πŸ§š‍♂️✨🌟✨✨
Christmas day was busy but really lovely...
But it is alot of driving for Stevie trying to fit in both parents...we always enjoy just relaxing on boxing day and spending time together at homeπŸ’–
(Not sure why my photos seem a bit odd with black lines at the sides, I think blogger is playing up?)
✨🌟🧚‍♂️πŸŽ„✨ After a day of relaxation we headed for a drive and a walk around Totnes, a wonderful castle town set on a hill in Devon....so many quirky shop window displays this Christmas...we walked to the church and had earl grey tea in a cafe nr the church...always a lovely atmosphere there, especially on a market day.
🌟✨🌟✨🌟✨ Wonderful display in fifty5a Shop by an artist (but forgotten the name)
✨🌟✨✨🌟✨We have just been enjoying being together.  Rushing around for work and school life and activities just takes over and quality time is few and far between...so that's what I enjoyed this Christmas 'together time'πŸ’–
✨✨✨🌟✨✨✨πŸŽ„πŸ§š‍♂️ The last days of the Christmas tree before we pot it back outdoors...I'll keep the fairy lights around the fireplace ✨🌟✨
✨✨✨🌟🧚‍♂️🌟✨ Enjoying festive candles and favourite cards...these peaceful no-where-to-be days after Christmas when you can't remember what day it is?...I like them most of all.
✨🌟🧚‍♂️πŸŽ„πŸŒŸ✨
See you in the New year dear friends,

M e r r y ✨πŸŽ„✨ M a k I n g

✨πŸŒŸπŸŒ›⭐πŸŽ„πŸ§š‍♂️✨🌟✨

I'm sat in bed with thick woolly socks on and enjoying a hot chocolate before bed...it's really nippy tonight we spent the night at the Dickensian evening with a mulled wine and watched the switch on of the Christmas lights✨🌟🧚‍♂️πŸŽ„⭐πŸŒ›⭐✨🌟

I thought I'd take the time to share a few catch up *moments of mine*. I always like to share a mosaic of favourite pics...the November sunlight was bliss & we managed some beautiful Autumn walks in the country and by the coast in Cornwall.

I can't believe it's December already...⭐

✨⭐πŸŒŸπŸŒ›⭐✨πŸŒŸπŸŒ›⭐✨🌟

It's been such a busy few weeks ...

December arrives too quickly for me every year...and I start to think there's not enough time. We have alot of birthdays this month. Including mine...eeekkk!

I found this wonderful vintage style lampshade in the vintage & antique market in my local town...I'm really enjoying having the dresser in the living room and I've got alot more space in the teeny kitchen we have. I need to sort through the dresser, de clutter and add some Christmasy things from my box's of Christmas decorations...I get alot of enjoyment out of faffing with it. I keep wondering about painting it grey or even green. I did try pink last year but mixed the paint myself and didn't match it right so it looked patchy in certain light so ended up painting it back with white. Mmm ideas...

...I love the lead up to Christmas most of all, especially all the little traditions that happen here...The Dickensian evening with festive light switch on, childrens choir in the square of our market town, The Christmas tree Festival and the local National trust houses Christmas displays...And getting all the Christmas decorations out the box's and decorating the Christmas tree...✨πŸŽ„πŸŒŸ✨

...✨🌟✨ enjoying snuggly woolly socks and mince pies ✨🌟✨ and starting to write Christmas cards and festive food lists...

✨🌟🌟✨I like to have a sort out, de clutter before I get the Christmas decorations out. I don't think im going to put as many out this year...well, I say not too many, I actually mean not as many as I normally do, but this is an idea ...it will all probably change next week.✨✨πŸŒŸπŸŽ„ My dresser definitely won't look minimal 🀭 ,but we all like what we like.

🌟✨🧚‍♂️πŸŽ„πŸŒŸ✨🌟🧚‍♂️πŸŽ„✨🌟🧚‍♂️πŸŽ„✨🌟🧚‍♂️πŸŽ„

✨✨🌟 This is my hand made Dartmoor festive fox...I used watercolours and fussy cut foliage from an old book...
✨✨🌟
✨✨πŸŒŸπŸŽ„✨My birthday πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‰ is in December and my lovely Stevie gave me an early gift...The vintage Moon girl ornaments...I just adore themπŸŒŸπŸŒ›✨
✨🌟✨✨✨The whimsical window has started to take shape, lots of snipping and cutting. The Tree πŸŽ„ has been decorated with the help of my daughter and some lovely festive candles are making the cottage smell so festive... Enjoy your Merry Making ✨πŸŒŸπŸŽ„πŸŒŸ✨πŸŽ„πŸŒŸ✨πŸŽ„
