Summer's End....

...I've been meaning to post all of last week, but sometimes you just cant find your words and feel lost in what to write...But it feels like a 'New' beginning starting September. And I think i've finally found my words.
Like a fresh journal page , I see September like a new years day...Full of plans and full on ideas, re-freshed and a bit more Spring in my step. Its been an odd Summer really on the whole and Covid-19 on every ones minds. My August was filled with worry and that missing feeling when my daughter had to go into quarantine after a holiday in France with her father...
So I thought a Blog Catch up might calm me and remind me of the good things that happened during the Summer's end.
I've spent time with my mother and in her garden after her cancer op (masks on), had a wonderful holiday week with my Stevie,  we've done lots of wonderful coastline walks in Cornwall, visited family and spent weekends exploring Dartmoor and Lustleigh with Stevie's parents. We've also been to...
The Powderham Castle estate near Exeter...we saw wild roaming deer...had cuppa and a brownie at the garden nursery and farm shop.
Lots of wonderful butterflies and bees during August while out on walks and in the garden...❁❀❁
Cawsand, Cornwall walk to Ramehead...6 miles we walked...it was lovely the views along the coastline.
Totnes, Devon...Lovely artisan markets and food festival. Flags flying everywhere!~ love bunting...
Gifts from the Garden...fennel flowers and Cosmos...❀❁❀
There was some really beautiful blue skies and sunbeams...But we've also had flash flooding in Devon during August and some very stormy weather.
Such a beautiful walk from Fowey around the coastal path...to hidden coves...sparkling turquoise seas.
Lots of wonderful apples from our two Apple trees in our Hill top garden.
Dartmoor pony...We had a picnic up on the Moors over bank holiday Monday.
There is a crisp, change in the air as we head towards Autumn.
I love all the red berries and baby acorns growing...
I'm wearing my woolly cardigan today despite the blue sky it feels cooler.
Enjoying the last weeks of a fruitful garden...
Keep well and cosy my lovelies, good luck those dreading sending school children back during these worrying Covid months...And Thank you kindly for all the wonderful comments i received on my last post.
~❁❀❁~ Ive been creating lots of illustrations but I will show you more of that during September, hopefully.

  1. Hi Kazzy, love those pictures of Cawsand and Truro, there's so much beauty in your part of the world. We are feeling the Autumn chill a bit here too. Hope your daughter is past quarantine and will be able to enjoy a return to school, it's so important for our young people socially as well as for their education.

  2. You are so lucky to have such wonders in your grasp. I loved the sea photos and the one of the big fuzzy bee on the white thistle was spectacular. I hope your autumn is a delight. I'm ready for the colorful leaves. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  5. As always beautiful, beautiful images with an abundance of memory stirring details and visual delights. My mother was from Devon and Gran lived in Brixham. I so remember trips to Powderham Castle which if I recall belonged or was associated with the Boleyn family or was it the Seymours! Blackberries bring to mind delicious blackberry crumble with clotted cream and those delicious apples homemade apple pie or apple sauce. The latter never seems the same when I make it with apples from here. I hope your mother has recovered from her op and is doing well. stay safe Amanda x

  6. Lovely post, Kazzy and as always the photos are beautiful! I particularly love the bees and butterflies on the plants, as they are so clear. You must have a good camera. I hope your mum is doing ok after her op and that your daughter has settled back to school. Seeing your photo of Powderham reminds me I wanted to pop out there, I like their garden nursery, the plants are always very healthy. Looking forward to seeing your new illustrations :)

  8. Oh I just love to see your posts Kazzy. They are dreamy and beautiful and cosy and warm. I hope your mum is doing okay. I love September too. I was never really sure what month I actually liked the most.....but I didn't think it was Autumn. Over the last few years I have come to love the onset of Autumn. That feeling of golden slumber. There is something really quite magical about it.

I have enjoyed growing things this summer, but I am actually glad things are calming down now! I am not naturally green fingered....actually the opposite! It's all a leaning curve! tee hee!

I am loving cosier evenings and the smell of Autumn candles making an appearance in the house! scrumptious!

    1. hello my lovely, so good to see you in blogland...i have always loved that feeling of Autumn...and the beginning of Spring more than the intense and busy times during summer...I do see Autumn like a new start more than new years day...its just been so strange since covid started like im almost wishing this year away.
yes youre so right, Something lovely about being cosy and indoors during the autumn winter months too...yes i adore the twinkling light, cosy by the fire feeling...snuggled with good books and hot chocs. aww bliss!
im so not green fingered actually lots of things seem to end up dying ones i plant them...but i try...ive found im better just with more hardy and wild flowers and i enjoy scattering mixed seeds and having that joy of what might bud...instead of getting disheartened with what doesnt grow...my lettuces went crazy this year and the apples...and the most beautiful joy was all the cosmos that appeared and still going now!
      keep snuggled dear friend...
      xx
