May sunshine & showers....its been a real mixed bag weather wise... But the rain makes the Devon countryside so lush & green. My pots on the hill top & apple trees definitely have come to life in these last weeks. We enjoyed a wonderful, almost 9mile hilly walk... I totally dressed for March not May and was spending each few miles pealing off layer by layer cardi & coat. It turned out blooming hot. The Cornish countryside look so beautiful especially all the meadow land towards Calstock & harrowbarrow... We stopped off half way for tea & cakey at the National Trust property of Cotehele... The beautiful medieval property & gardens especially apple orchards are wonderful at this time of year.
Wonderful place to explore or sit in peace. πBluebells & cowparsley covering the Cotehele estate. π
Looking towards the Tamar River... And walking around the gardens & potting shed. Along the Cornish lanes the views were breathtaking I came home from the walk with some cowparsley & pink campion (only a hand full)... π±ππ±
Wonderful May wildflowers cheering up my cottage this week and some new-to-me books and lovely decorative mug...
Actually, looking over my photos on my phone I've realised how much walking I've been doing... Definitely helps when the weather is bright & the landscape so pretty. But I still keep having naughty bakery treats so I better walk some more tehe.
I've been enjoying spending time in the garden & listening to the swifts and swollows swooping over the hill top.
Enjoying strawberries & cream in the sunshineπ±πππ±π·ππ±ππ±
Making Jubilee inspired decorations... A little bit more painting too.
The community garden in our market town really is a beautiful sanctuary for me...
So beautiful at this time of year... Lots of allotment veg growing, wild flowers & roses starting to bloom π±ππ±ππ±ππ±
My dresser top this Monday morning just after the rush of family and then some quiet time with coffee & housework while it pours with May rains... π¦️π€️π§️☔

Hello Kazzy! Greetings from the Netherlands. I have been reading your blog for ages and simply love your reports of visiting local towns, the seaside, your walks in the Devon countryside, reports on your visits to National Trust treasures, and, of course, your art. And simply love, LoVe, LOVE, your wonderful dresser and cottage. I am one of probably many silent readers who enjoys your sharing your cottage, bits of your life and art with us - and seldom comment. π So. Doing so now - sending thanks and appreciation. ππ»☘️ Sylvia
