The joys of sweet Summer days...
πΏπΏππΏπΏ
Another catch up post. Has it really been a month?
My daughter has completed her gcse's and has now just started her Accountancy apprenticeship... It has been a busy, full on summer for her so far. I'm so proud of her & wish her all the best in her new career. She is working for an accountancy firm just outside the city and will go to college 1 or two days a week. She's so enjoying hands on training and her own desk. She's so grown up!... I felt so teary on her first day she'll always be my little girl. π’ Happy tearsπ it's all *change* in the air this month and I get unsettled... Things will soon be in a routine and feel like the norm I guess. We had a lovely family week just before she started her apprenticeship. We visited some lovely, local National Trust homes & gardens, we walked to a peacefully hidden cove and enjoyed the coast, city shopping, local walks up on Dartmoor and being in the garden. It had been so hot so I'm glad it's cooled a little. π️ππ€️π₯️

I've already been working hard on new illustrations and junk journal creations. Follow me on Instagram for more regular updates. I'm still sorting my shop out and ordering prints. I hope to sell some original art too. πΏππΏππΏππΏIm full of ideas at the moment. And it's lovely to have more time to create. Life at the Pin Dolly studio... Full of creativity. πΏππΏππΏππΏπ±πΈπ±πΈπ±Whimsical flower girls for junk journals... Beautiful! Your blog is so inspiring! We are so lucky to have so many beautiful places to visit here in Devon, aren’t we? Buckland Abbey is delightful. Have you visited The Garden House? Silly question, I expect?! I guess that you are a Totnes lover, too!
ReplyDeleteI wish your daughter all the best for the next stage in her life. Being a mum is a lifelong task, I always say! Have a happy July! π
Pin Dolly Studio = SO CUTE! Oh, I bet you ARE a proud mum! You have loved her so well!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is such a lucky girl, congratulations to her for the apprenticeship. She must hav worked very hard to earn that opportunity as I know chances like this are hard to come by in your area so she must be a very, very deserving young lady to beat the competition. She has so much love from you, support and encouragement and now she is opening her wings and learning to fly. It's your turn now Kazzy, for a little bit of an adventure to experiment and move forward with your creativity and see where it takes you .. I have always thought you would be a wonderful illustrator of children's books. I wish you all the best with your own career. Betty :)
ReplyDeleteGosh, doesn't life feel like it changes in a second? Our babies have done their G.C.S.E's and are now young adults. I'm still trying to get my head around it! It's a new season for everyone. I know it's a bittersweet time as a mother, but I am trying so hard to walk forward thinking of a new era for adventure ahead. Our children are starting their own new adventures and it's such an exciting time for them. I'm with Betty all the way........I have always seen book shops filled with your illustrations in my vision! xxxxx
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, all your pictures are a feast for eyes, the summer is just shining out of them!
ReplyDeleteHi again…in reply to our paths crossing, I guess that you visited the vintage fairs in which I used to take part…possibly in Tavistock or Totnes although I did go further afield to Frome and also down to Portscatho in Cornwall. They were good times! I love Tavistock..we stopped there recently and we also went to the old fashioned, Endsleigh Nursery! I prefer nurseries like that! π
ReplyDeleteHello. Where can I find you on instagram please. Jan
ReplyDeleteOh, these beautiful photos and your words makes me most happy of all blogs! I wish I can visit to England and specially steam fair again some day! ❤️
ReplyDeleteThanks for your commitment to making this blog so informative
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Sophia on passing those GCSEs she has a bright future ahead. So sorry to read that your dad is so ill, I hope you will see him as much as possible - I have been there myself so can understand the turmoil of feelings that surface (anger, guilt, sadness, despair, gratitude, all at once sometimes). Good luck with the new platform for your artwork too - I have always thought you would be a very good illustrator of children's books, no doubt the difficulty is in getting a writer to work with - I hope you will consider sending some artwork to publishers as they may match you with a suitable author. ReplyDeleteI know I commented earlier in the month but blogger wasn't displaying my comment at the time, so just repeating myself!! get to a publisher!
