I thought I'd have a little catch up with my Summer joys so far ✨🌟🌞✨

It's part of my 'keep positive journal' to keep me jolly!...it does do me good to focus on those little joys during the seasons, months and weeks...All the little snippets that make life lovely 🤗✨🌞✨🌟

✨🌟🌞💚✨🧚‍♂️Making the most of days off usually weekends, bank holidays 😄 and spending date days together, I love mooching about the Devon Market towns...A jolly day well spent!🤭🌞✨🌟

✨🌞🌟🧚‍♂️🌹✨🌟🐝🐞 Beautiful blooms...My garden is not at its best this Summer, we'd had alot of rain then a heat wave, my pots and boarders got attacked by slugs , I couldn't keep up the watering in my pots for a few weeks when we were busy with work and the hill top garden got quite neglected... instead of getting down I just accepted this is not my year for lots of pretty blooms...I did have foxgloves, a few dahlias, the buddleia has gone huuuge , poppies, wild campian, ox eye daisies and rambling roses. But my beautiful Cosmos which I'd spent ages growing so many pots of just faded away... Anyhoo... what we have had is the National trust gardens to enjoy this  Summer.✨🌟✨💚🌞🧚‍♂️

✨✨🌟💚🌞🧚‍♂️The Vintage green fair in our local Market town...Fresh produce, cream teas, flowers, bric a brac, books, cakes, folk music, brass bands, games...Mainly helping the local church, charities. Definitely a jolly good atmosphere that weekend a few weekends ago, we even be friended a Shrew. Sadly I think a cat had got him...but we tried our best to tuck him safely out of harms way. I came home with a New knitted tea cosy, cakes and plants✨🌟💚🌞

✨🌟🧚‍♂️💚🌞✨🌟 Enjoying the Garden nurseries, pots of tea, cakes and plants! I love gathering ideas too ... definitely a jolly way to spend a few hours.

✨🌟✨✨🌞💚🧚‍♂️Jolly Summer foot ware. Colourful and cheerful ✨🌟🌞💚🧚‍♂️ definitely needed that on the rainy days.

✨🌟🌞💚🧚‍♂️✨🌟🌞The beautiful Devon landscape... enjoying good walks on clear days... especially up on the Tors of Dartmoor 

✨✨🌟🧚‍♂️💚✨✨🌟🌞 Creative time...I've been busy working away ...lots of ideas 💚

✨🌟✨🌞💚✨🌟🧚‍♂️ Dartmoor stone... loosely illustrated based on Whistmans wood...the mossy stones...the fairy, pixie ✨ ✨ 🌟 ✨ and Mr foxy tags, cut outs...

✨🌟😻🌟✨✨🌞Also a cat painting 🎨 🖌️ and my junk journal pages...I've actually decided to end it there on Julys junk journal as I was feeling a bit behind...I managed about 15 pages....✨🌟🌞✨ But I was more enjoying making time for painting 🎨 🖌️ 

✨✨🌞🌟✨🌟🧚‍♂️🌊💦⛵🧜And lastly, A jolly good time beside the sea side...💙 Making time for beachy, coastal days when the weather is absolutely beautiful...pretty Cornish cottages, beautiful seascapes  and paddling in the sea... Definitely a Jolly holiday 😉🧚‍♂️🌟🌊💦⛵🧜🌞✨💙🌟💛

🌟 Junk journal July🌟 day 10

It's been 10 days since I joined in on #junkjournaljuly24  hosted by @megjournals & co on Instagram ✨🌟💙🌈🌞✨🌟

So as promised I thought I'd share my progress...I've really been enjoying keeping to a plan of creating a page each day in my junk journal. This is a very cheap, easy way to junk journal I've mainly used ephemera from old books, magazines & paper stash I've had for many years. I've also added some fussy cut illustrations I've printed up over the years.✨🧚‍♂️🌟It's been raining on and off for quite a few days so actually it's been good to forget the drizzle and create. But we do have some summer sun this afternoon 😁 yay🌞✨🌟🌈💙

Welcoming a brand New month...

✨✨🌟🌹💚🌟✨✨

And it's been quite a fully packed month since I last posted on here my poor neglected blog🤣🤭 I must do better!!... So again it's a bit of a catch up post & I'm also taking part in # junk journal July 2024 hosted by @ meg journals over on Instagram... hopefully share the prompts on here during this month as well... I found a wonderful old, vintage book in the second hand book shop well, several books in fact...all around 2.99, I fell in love with the front covers mainly and it didn't bother me that the pages inside were a little loose, warn and slightly stained with age spots. Some of the picture plates were still in very good condition. I taught myself to take out the damaged pages then add my own and stitch , replace . I'm not very professional but it works and it makes it personal. I hardened and fixed the spine with card and glue before stitching in page segments. I do love fussy cutting images out of old magazines, vintage books, ephemera to use in my junk journals.

✨✨🌟💚🌹🌟✨✨ My first page of Junk journal July was *Spark*...So I finished off this page for day 1....

✨✨🌟🌹💚🌟✨✨I  find it's a good way to get yourself creative each day even if it's only for half an hour ...I keep lacking that creative flow at times so this is helping me. If you feel inspired please have a go... doesn't have to be perfect just something to ease you back into journaling...I doubt I'll manage to achieve all the prompts... sometimes it's not about the completion it's more about the taking part...it's definitely good art Therapy for me....and loosing myself in the creative process and letting my imagination run free.

✨✨🌟💚🌹😁I trying to think where I left off last time I blogged ...My Lovely Sophs has been busy with her driving lessons again after not passing her 1st test, also alongside her Accountancy apprenticeship she's  in a theatre musical group in the evening during the week. we watched her 1st show with them last Saturday.... always so proud of her and all her achievements. My brother and his family came to visit along with my nephew's new baby girl🐥🍼 .I really am starting to feel old!! So it's been fully packed lately with visitors and outings . Really lovely though.💕😊

✨✨🌟💚🌞It's been quite a good summer for me weather wise not too hot...I'm not a lover of heat. I actually prefer overcast days warm and not raining obviously!... we've enjoyed those such days doing long walks...I really enjoy the Tamar valley walk in Cornwall from Calstock to Cotehele 💚 Along the river Tamar...And enjoying Cotehele national trust house and gardens.

✨🌟🌞💚💖🍓And locally grown strawberries... 😋 Yummy!!

We had a day in Totnes and for a change we took the train 🚂 🚃 we hadn't done that in such a long time it was really good fun. We enjoyed a Steam fair in our Market town too at the beginning of the month of June.

✨🌞🌟✨💚✨🌟 And the foxgloves have been wonderful and also the roses in bloom during June ...❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️
