Things made of Fairy tales and cats...

I seem to have been very busy lately, creativity flowing and Christmas around the corner...Its given a push in the right direction...Also I have decided to do a 'Solo' trip to London then on to the East Anglian Coastline to spend Christmas with my Father. I'm anxious about the journey alone. But its my free week over the Christmas period and I have a wonderful, Loving and truly 'fantastic' partner who's been happy to look after the family while I'm away. I feel bad for Sophia though, But she does understand how much Gramps needs me and my Mother, Stevies Mother and the rest of the family will spoil her while I'm away.
Its actually taken a huge weight off my shoulders knowing my father will not be on his own at Christmas. He cannot do the 6 hour journey to Devon, So I'm doing it instead. Saving up my pennies as we speak.
I can decorate his apartment, make a roast and play festive songs and hopefully jolly life up a bit for him after all his intense cancer treatments. But most of all I need a Daddy hug.  So that has been a huge positive in Life  lately...I'd been suffering badly with depression (I think its been all the worry).  I've also had some good sales in my Esty Shop, So all in the piggy bank for travel costs!...
Fairies have landed in the cottage...I've been using Vintage post cards and images of butterflies and moth wings to decorate...I will be adding glitter after my next trip to HobbyCraft. Does anyone else have a Hobby craft near them? Its a fantastic Art and Craft supplies shop...I quite happily spend at least an hour looking around and gathering ideas in my head. Usually have to do the food shop first otherwise Id have nothing left for food after filling my trolley with art, craft supplies.  I think i'm turning into that Crazy Cat Lady...As All my inspirations to do with Illustration and craft have been to do with Cats...(Soon to be added to my Etsy Shop Link in side bar)...The adverts are filling up with Christmas advertisements already!!...and I noticed quite a few poeple on Instagram putting decorations and tree's up!??... eeeekkkk! Thats a bit too soon I think.
Though, Christmas is in all my illustrations at the moment (well, need to get things printed up!).
The Photographs of the beautiful sky and countryside are around Dartmoor, Kingsbridge, Avon mill...We have had some lovely early evening walks over the weekends mainly...I love the sight of a Sun set on Dartmoor its breathtaking ~ Never could I ever get bored of this view.  The beautiful white Dartmoor ponies that roam freely over moors and woodlands are so friendly here too.  Avon Mill is a small garden centre with gallery of crafts shop, beautiful cafe/restaurant, clothing, gifts, home wares, florists and boutique shops...They had the biggest Pumpkin I have ever seen!.

Little Light shining.... I so Love Kate Bush...her music and voice speaks to my soul...Hope it does yours too.

  2. I refuse to put any decorations up until the first of December as before that I think is too soon. December is creeping up rather too quickly for me right now though. I'm so glad that you're going to spend time with your Dad at Christmas, you both will cherish the time and I'm sure Sohpia will have a wonderful time with Stevie's family.
I know when I've suffered from depression in the past, I've looked for any tiny little positive to help pick me up. You have an amazing gift and talent with your artwork and the way you view the world. I'm sending you positive thoughts and big, comforting hugs. xx Susan

  3. That is wonderful that you are going to spend time with your dad and cooke and decorate for him. My dad also lived alone in his last years, so I would go over and take a small tree and put it in his window and put on the lights and decorated it with some handmade ornaments. You will earn your angel wings. Enjoy him. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  4. I'm so sorry that you are going through such a difficult time right now, you must feel very conflicted and pulled in all directions. I know it is very hard when a sick parent is not nearby. It is so hard to be 'everywhere' all at once. Of course you can't be. I think your daughter will be fine and you want to be with your Dad at this time and you need to see him. I hope your visit is very special and filled with Christmas joy and peace and love.

Your home is beautiful, your cat designs are so pretty - you are so clever and I always love your art work. I wish you lots of continued success with it. We don't have a Hobbycraft near by. I do have a rather nice quilting shop though that sells bits of everything. I always want everything when I go in! I picked up some bags of embroidery floss from the charity shop yesterday which was rather nice as it is quite expensive in the UK and I like to have all the colours to play with.

I get anxious about journeys too, but it always works out okay so I'm sure you will be fine too. All my best wishes for you right now. Do take good care of yourself too.

  5. Hello beautiful!

Do you know, quite a few christmas decorations have appeared in my house this week! EEEEEEKKKKKKK! You see, I just can't do it. I went into a Tiger and then a Primark and they both had the cutest Christmas tree decorations. The thing is, I've collected so many over the years that I think I need ten trees to hang them on! I did think this year that I'd really like to make time to make some of my own, but as usual, the time suddenly creeps up on me and it's too late. Ah well, there's always next year!

Awe, it's lovely that you will get to spend time with your dad.......and more importantly......get a daddy hug! Sophia will be fine knowing that you are doing what you need to do. What will make you happy will in turn make her happy.

Oh Hobbycraft......I was in that place for ages a few days ago....especially with all their christmas stuff in. I painted papiér maché baubles last year from there and it was so much fun. This year I got a couple of ceramic skaters boots to paint and glitter up. I got stupidly excited over that! Ah the simple things hey!

There have been some pretty sunsets this week. Cold now and the mist that comes with it is so pretty. I'm not a fan of the dark evenings though. Candles and lamps help me out! Hygge and all that!

Have a super week Kazzy and carry on with that beautiful creativeness of yours! Big squeeze Ness xxxxx
