As promised I thought I'd share my little studio space which I've named Pin Dolly. My lovely partner stevie made it for me... Nothing grand or expensive, but to me it's everything & more... Its literally a huge piece of plywood desk & underneath a vintage cabinet with fixings attached to strengthen it... It was really teeny my old desk space so now I feel spoilt. I'm still under the attic beams. I think having all my drawings & around me helps my creative soul and keeps me inspired and with art supplies always out & ready to use. You can tell already its been well used & starting to look a bit of a jumble... But it's my happy creative space & I love it 💖✨⭐✨

I've put all my little whimsical cut outs in the wildflower tray & with magazine cuttings & inspirations from old books & magazines. 

I've definitely been more inspired 💕

ive been enjoying looking through the thrift shops & vintage Market for old books to junk journal , ephemera & old magazines. Found some lovely selvedge magazines which are usually expensive. Also one of the articles was on Julie Arkell, wonderful, whimsical artist. Julie is Very talented & very inspiring.

Last weekend we got a few house jobs completed, garden tidying, shopping and a few rather important emails sent. Lots going on behind the scenes including my daughter starting a work experience placement & in her secondary school theatre production and in the middle of mock exams. All feels quite stressful. We decided to take a break from it all and headed to the peaceful moorland and ended up driving to Buckland Abbey, national trust with picnic on the lawn of the garden, we also played a game of tennis... Enjoyed the wildflowers & bird songs. But at least it's a few more weeks & then it's the summer hols. The weather has been a real mix bag all this week... And some beautiful rainbows... 

Cosying up with candles on the grey early evenings a few nights ago... Though today has been rather lovely glimpses of blue sky as the swifts and swallows swoop over head... Thank you to those who take time to comment & read my ramblings ✨🌟

Well, what a wonderful jubilee...💕🇬🇧💕👸

Sometimes I do get a bit anxious around large gatherings of people... I definitely prefer to escape large crowd's but actually I found the whole jubilee long weekend quite exciting and joyous... Our little market town literally went to town on its street party's, live music from 40s,50s,60s...each day they had something rather lovely planned... Punch & Judy, vintage Market, art & crafts Market, food & drinks, cream teas and a steam fair & a party picnic in the park and mini fair for the little ones. Oh and not forgetting lots of wonderful bunting everywhere... 🌱🇬🇧🌱🇬🇧🌱🇬🇧🌱💕

And did you get to see that wonderful clip on TV of the Queen at Buckingham Palace with Paddington bear?... 💕🐻👸🌹 Enjoying tea & marmalade sandwiches ☕👑 The parade was so wonderful too... So many wonderful costumes & puppets & vintage cars... 

I found a wonderful vintage scrapbook of royal images, so I handmade lots of bunting & hats with it... We may of eaten too many cream teas and strawberries but we definitely all had a jolly good jubilee celebration. 🎉🍓🎉🌹🎉🇬🇧💕👸👑🎊

A little catch up too... Just before the jubilee my brother came to to visit with his wife from the East anglian coast... They took us out on a couple of trips... We had a wonderful time with them & we went to the Cornish Coast of Boscastle... 🌱💙🌱

Wonderful to explore the harbour town. 

May came and went in a blink of an eye, such a fun packed month too... Its my favourite month when the landscape looks so pretty with cowparsley, pink campion, bluebells & lush meadow lands. I've walked and walked my way through this month too. But that's easy when the Devon landscape is so pretty... 🌱💚🌱

May sunshine & showers....its been a real mixed bag weather wise... But the rain makes the Devon countryside so lush & green. My pots on the hill top & apple trees definitely have come to life in these last weeks.  We enjoyed a wonderful,  almost 9mile hilly walk... I totally dressed for March not May and was spending each few miles pealing off layer by layer cardi & coat. It turned out blooming hot. The Cornish countryside look so beautiful especially all the meadow land towards Calstock & harrowbarrow... We stopped off half way for tea & cakey at the National Trust property of Cotehele... The beautiful medieval property & gardens especially apple orchards are wonderful at this time of year. 

Wonderful place to explore or sit in peace. 💚Bluebells & cowparsley covering the Cotehele estate. 💚

Looking towards the Tamar River... And walking around the gardens & potting shed. Along the Cornish lanes the views were breathtaking I came home from the walk with some cowparsley & pink campion (only a hand full)... 🌱💚🌱

Wonderful May wildflowers cheering up my cottage this week and some new-to-me books and lovely decorative mug... 

Actually, looking over my photos on my phone I've realised how much walking I've been doing... Definitely helps when the weather is bright & the landscape so pretty. But I still keep having naughty bakery treats so I better walk some more tehe. 

I've been enjoying spending time in the garden & listening to the swifts and swollows swooping over the hill top.
