Moments in December ✨🌟✨

🌿🌟🌿 Coastal Christmas cottages....
The sea was calling me last weekend...
I love seeing Christmas trees in pretty windows and wreaths decorating doors
🌿🌟🌿The sea was choppy and the wave were hitting the harbour wall and the little children were screaming with excitement
🌿🌟🌿 Love watching the waves... The sea like whipped cream
🌿🌟🌿It was a lot more peaceful on the coastal path above the harbour town
🌿🌟🌿Back home snug indoors with the candles and fairy lights...
🌿🌟🌿We found some beautiful on sale paper chains, the colour and illustrations are just so beautiful... I think we stuck together a hundred!
🌿🌟🌿... And decorated the lounge and hall with all the paper chains...
🌿🌟🌿 Nativity in our Market town...
🌿⭐🌿Wonderful festive smells in our cottage...
🌿🌟🌿✨✨More Candlelight on the dresser...
I love this ritual lighting the candles...
🌿🌟🌿Sophia has been baking gingerbread biscuits
🌿⭐🌿Found my beautiful vintage stamped envelopes.... I have a thing for Christmas stamps, especially vintage ones...
Look at the beauty of this angel...
🌿⭐🌿... Finally posting off cards tomorrow...
🌿⭐🌿I love arty Christmas cards and ones connected to charity... These Christmas cards were mainly from the Oxfam charity helping people in poverty... And Crises charity for the homeless
🌿⭐🌿 I turn 40 years old this month!!!! What a year to turn forty... I won't be going out to celebrate, probably a Cornish cider and a slice of cake and being with my family at home.... I was looking back through the months of 2020,
Oh my goodness what a year its been...

December snow & a catch up...

We had a wonderful surprise last week on the moors near our market town... Sleet and then snow fell over the night while we slept and when I went to draw the curtains that morning in the December sunrise I saw a beautiful and magical snow filled landscape towards Dartmoor... Sooo unbelievably exciting... We quickly dressed, coats and boots and woolly mittens and headed up there... It felt just right to have snow before Christmas.

Snow and the sparkle of it all just transforms any bleak landscape... Really cheered my soul.
Below, my monthly round up from November.
I should really be organised for Christmas but we've had quite a few stressful things happening in real life and a huge car expense so we'd put off main shopping until all the important things were paid off... Last thing we needed before Christmas. But we can now move forward... And start to begin a list of to do's. I always like to do food hampers for our parents.

A good walk in the Winter wonderland really put my mind at rest...

✨✨✨🌟✨✨✨
I've been more creative in the Christmas decorations this year... Myself and Sophia have started making paper chains, I've decorated the windows with a whimsical wonderland (as you saw in my last post), all the decorations are out of the Box's, baubles are hanging on the dresser shelves and the Dartmoor farm Christmas tree has been decorated... And lots of beautiful fairy lights are sparkling in the evenings ... I do enjoy Christmas despite sometimes feeling a bit stressed.

Christmas will be much different this year....
But its about making the best out of a difficult year...

I always get out the precious cards (from previous years) , some hand made ones that my daughter made me when she was little... Precious memories... πŸ’•

✨✨🌟✨✨πŸŽ„✨✨🌟✨✨
Getting cosy with a vintage ladybird book, always enjoy the vintage illustrations...

Jack frost has visited quite a few times this week... Its definitely woolly jumper weather.

One Sunday we found a new little lane walk... But it was quite hilly walking back...

The wreath below I saw on some else's door, isn't it beautiful? The gold foliage with the gold bee door knocker... I love seeing wreaths on doors, all so different and wonderful.

On the table... A festive display and favourite Christmas magazines... πŸŒΏπŸ’šπŸŒΏ

My  lovely mum gave me a beautiful card below...
I better start writing mine... 🀭✨🌟✨

♥️ Baubles on the dresser top by Candlelight...

December sunlight casting shadows from my whimsical window.... Brings me joy every morning... ✨🌟✨🧚‍♂️🌟✨✨

✨🌟 Whimsical window✨🌟✨

 πŸŒΏπŸ’šπŸŒΏ

A festive window always brings me cheer...

So I thought I'd do my very best to create my very own.... Four hours of drawing and cutting shapes... Fiddly and paper cuttings covering the floor like confetti...

Fox's, hares, pixies and fairies... And little houses and festive foliage...

Moments in November...

Cherishing moments in November

❤️

((we will totally ignore the amount of rain we've been having in Devon))

We've been getting out wellies and all...

πŸŒΏπŸ’šπŸŒΏ

πŸ’– Totally locally... Those wonderful walks on the footpaths and woodlands and moorlands of Dartmoor...
Still so much beauty of Autumn around us.

πŸ’– Beautiful golden sunlight

πŸ’– November sparklers... It was a lot more quiet during bonfire night but still with a few whizzes and bangs from fireworks from neighbouring farms
πŸ’– Cosy candle light comfort and twinkly fairy lights...

πŸ’– Autumnal country lanes...

πŸ’– Walking the country lanes gathering little bits and pieces of festive foliage for wreath making

πŸ’– Drizzly walks snuggled up in scarves looking across the farmer's fields... So beautiful and peaceful just the sound of pheasants and distant field of cows.

πŸ’– Slowly getting out little box's of tucked away festive decors... Sorting through the decorations and dressing the home for the festive weeks a head... ✨✨⭐✨
... And more candles🀭

πŸ’– Visiting family for drop off essentials after mum's radiotherapy treatments...
On the way back we headed to the Cornish Coast for some exercise along the empty beach... It was raining but we still had a wonderful time and the sea air always cheers my soul... I was an island baby after all. Vitamin Sea.... πŸ’™

πŸ’– Beauty of the seascape.

πŸ’– All the colours of Autumn...
I love the bracken on the Moor lands changing colours against the green, red and gold of the leaves...

πŸ’– Hot chocs on cold days...
... And more candle light ✨⭐✨

πŸ’– Taking part in folk tale week on Instagram...

✨✨⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨✨

Lock down is still in force...
But trying to make the most of the good, positive things during November...
πŸ’–
