The magic of the seasons, oh' Autumnal days... You have been a pleasure... The joy of hunting for toadstools, crunching my boots through the crispy, golden leaves & that beautiful sunlight. Its starting to feel quite nippy here in Devon. We've enjoyed some lovely walks lately between school & work... We've also enjoyed some lovely festivities at local National Trust houses, Cotehele & Saltrum house... And walks on Dartmoor, Harrowbarrow & Whitchurch. And my daughter had a magical evening at the Royal theatre watching the Nutcracker...

Some amazing sights! I'd love to know what this mushroom was, like a huge shell...?
Always feels quite magical up on Dartmoor...
Can you see what I see staring straight back at me?... Oh' is it a mossy pixie?
I seem to find a pixie at every turn on our little adventures...
Autumnal fields in Devon...
Wonderful crunchy, golden leaves...
Wonderful Devon sunlight...
I explored the church at Whitchurch... Beautiful prayer cushions... All completely different.
The Winter garland at Cotehele, National Trust House... Made from all the flowers & foliage grown on the grounds... Its absolutely spectacular... Every year is different...
So enchantingly beautiful ✨✨π✨
Cosy by the great hall fire...
Wreaths on all the medieval doorways...
I adored this cosy festive feast painting of the great hall... I wondered if I could try painting something similar...
We also visited Saltrum house, National Trust House & their Nutcracker christmas...
Another truly magical late afternoon...
Every stately room dressed to impress....
Wonderful carriage...
It most definitely got me into the festive spirit...
Thanks kindly for all the wonderful comments,

Hi Kazzie I definitely can see your mossy pixie - how lucky for you :) Wonderful pictures as always and I am certain you would create a very beautiful painting like the banquet picture you admired. I think your lovely big fungi is from the bracket family.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post Kazzy. I think it's a bracket fungus too. I've had a search online and apparently certain types like particular trees. There's a Birch polypore which looks similar. I can't tell what tree species it is from your photo.

Gorgeous pictures! I love the little pasture gates and the door in the garden wall. So many lovely things. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteImpressive photo tour... some really great images. The most endearing one your last photo of the handsome duck at the gate :-) Is he yours? Happy December! Amanda x
