🌱April days🌱

Such a wonderfully sunny month, a few nippy in the air days here & there but hardly any showers... Well, until yesterday and this afternoon the April showers came...I love the smell of rain.

My monthly round up for April... 

Wonderful to see the Apple Blossom in my hill top part of the garden... 

My twinny gave me some beautiful tulips. 

New shoots, all my seedlings have grown so tall... Need to desperately pot on and get them outside... Waiting for a warm May day to do it. 

We had a lovely day by the sea a few weekends ago, Fowey in Cornwall. Beautiful blue sky but nippy... The sea was a beautiful turquoise. We looked around the harbour church and had a picnic of pasties and a cream cake. 

Re-emerge from lock down Oxfam charity book shop window display... 

I had a day trip catch up/shopping trip with my twinny in Truro... We had such a giggle, I'd missed her so much during lock down. 

Its been so lovely to get and about a lot more. My partner stevie had his first covid jab but had a nasty shivering cold feeling the day after and ache in arm, but that is part of side effects. 

All my fairies have been coming out to play... 

I'm still waiting on my batch of prints.

🌿💛🌿Easter Escape 🌿🐣🌿

The Easter holidays has been a rather jolly, busy time of exploring, meeting up with family and my partner stevie had a well deserved five days off work...sooo lovely to have more freedom too. ⛵💙🌊🐚🐟🌊💙⛵

It was lovely to have a bit more freedom to explore this Easter bank holiday with the lock down being lifted, still with guidelines on social distancing, meeting outside...  

Living so close to Cornwall but being in lock down and keeping to strict rules on staying local we just hadn't seen the sea in months!... We had greatly missed the Cornish and Devon coastlines. And only about 35 min drive away are some beautiful, breathtaking coastal bays... Like Whitsands Bay, Portwinkle and Kingsand, Cawsands... Oh' I do like to be beside the sea!.

Wonderful to hear the sea, do some beach combing and pebble skimming... Looking through the rock pools and watching the waves roll in... The weather was so warm and sunny the first 3 days of the Easter bank holiday but then the wind chill and cloudy skies with hale stones and sleet set in...

We've had some wonderful walks... Through the woodland at Dartington Hall, cotehele and on Dartmoor. We've taken picnics every day. 

Its so wonderful to see the land come alive with the arrival of Spring💛

I've still been busy painting... This is a work in progress lots still to finish off🌿💚🌿

🌿💚🌿All the new shoots bursting up from the ground... Such a welcoming sight after the bleak moments of winter... The blossom flowers, Daffodils, primroses... So much beauty for the start of Spring 🌿💚🌿

I welcome Spring with big wide open arms! 🌿

A walk along the moorland lanes and back via the my market town church yard... 

All the new shoots, first bluebells and so many primroses...

Enjoying all the beauty of Spring has inspired two new paintings... Both a work in progress... Keep starting lots of paintings but need to finish off the details... The pink Spring hare with tea & cake is a large A3 painting I've spent 3 days on it, quite a few hours... I've been trying out new paints too and layering up the details... Still quite a lot to do... I think it will make a lovely print.

My poor neglected etsy shop... Hopefully, might be updated by the end of April. 

I've been busy decorating some hen eggs... And photographed them in a nest that came down in the gales last lock down...

Happy Spring days... 

Soon be out of lock down hopefully and can get around a little more freely... I can't wait to see the sea again...

🌿🌼March🌼🌿

March is here💛... How did that happen so quickly?... I don't know about you but hasn't this lock down seemed sooo long and a struggle at times ... I've actually found it hard going... But, 

I've actually enjoyed having my daughter home, she's been such a hard worker throughout lock down... But she's so happy to be back in school full time. I loved our tea breaks and cake together mid mornings and just having her company...we've had our fair share of moody moments {both of us} but it's definitely brought us closer together.  Actually, when I think back we should all be proud... As humans this has been an emotional roller-coaster at times.

I'm just glad to have had that extra special time.

But I'm hoping the slow move out of lock down will get us back to a new kind of normal... 

I just can't wait for a trip to the coast... I dream of watching the waves... I also hope to see my father on the east coast during the summer months depending on the covid situation.

At least with lock down I have been more creative... Lots of painting... Lots of craft projects on the go... So that's a huge positive for me.

Slow stitching using vintage embroidery, paper, fabric and embellishments...

We have been on lots of walks each week too... 

Local to us or a short 5min drive... 

Some days it's felt like Spring and other days we've had stormy skies and hale stones... 

Its been uplifting to see the daffodils, primroses, crocuses along the lanes. And I've seen quite a few butterflies too... 

Spring will soon be here...
